Waller — Young Girl Found Submerged in Water, Several Others Hurt When Truck Veers Off Knebel Road

Posted on Sunday, July 7th, 2019 at 8:53 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 4:40 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019, a young girl is declared brain dead and several others were injured in a vehicular accident that occurred in Waller, Texas.

According to initial reports, a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Knebel Road when the driver, 20-year-old Montana Morgan, blew past a stop sign, went through an intersection and landed in a ditch of the west side of Stokes Road.

A 12-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle and was found submerged in water. She was transported to Memorial Hermann Cypress and was then flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. She was listed in critical condition and then determined to be brain dead.

Montana Morgan and four other men between the ages of 18 and 24 were also brought to hospitals for their injuries.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Vehicular accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

That being said, a vehicle plunging into any body of water is not common to see, but it can be fatal when it does happen. This is because in this particular kind of accident, drivers and passengers are trapped inside the vehicle, so the cause of death is more often than not drowning, not really the injuries that are sustained in the crash itself.

Vehicular accidents are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. They can also be very complicated. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in vehicular accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.
