Tyler — Rollover Wreck Kills One Person

Posted on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 at 5:00 am by Williams Hart

At around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019, one person was killed after a rollover accident in a creek in Tyler.

According to the Tyler Police Department, the Dodge Challenger was traveling north on North Parkdale Drive when it veered left and went off of the roadway on the southbound side of the street. This then caused the car to roll over in a creek in the 900 block of North Parkdale Drive and to land on the opposite side of the creek, upside down.

The driver of the Dodge Challenger, 38-year-old Terry Dewayne Cain, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of Terry Dewayne Cain. Alas, he is only one of the very many people who died because of a car accident. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A particular kind of vehicular accident that is considered to be one of the deadliest is a rollover. A 2010 statistics showed that rollovers comprised only 2.1% of nearly 9.1 million vehicular accidents, but they did account for well over 35% of all deaths. According to numerous studies, about 69% of the people who died from rollovers were not wearing any seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Vehicular accidents, especially those rollovers, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/rollover accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers.
