Vidor — 2 Women Injured in ATV Accident on Lost Lake Lane

Posted on Tuesday, September 10th, 2019 at 9:45 pm by Williams Hart

At around 12:45 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019, two women were injured in an ATV accident that occurred in Vidor, Texas.

According to initial reports, a Polaris ATV/Side-By-Side vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed on Lost Lake Lane as it entered a curve in the roadway. The driver, 21-year-old Delena Flowers, lost control of the vehicle, and both occupants fell out of the vehicle. The ATV then landed on top of the passenger, 21-year-old Annalyse Garrett, before coming to rest.

Flowers sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene. Meanwhile, Garrett was brought to St. Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the two victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Vehicular accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are small, single- or dual-person vehicles that are used for recreational purposes on off-road courses or areas of wider land. They are not legal to be used on the streets in the United States, but people still do use them, and so accidents involving this kind of vehicle happen. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, ATVs were responsible for 125,500 injuries and 621 deaths in 2003. The number of injuries rose to 146,000 in 2006 and to 150,900 in 2007.

Statistics also show that one-third of all ATV-related fatalities reported and recorded between 1982 and 2002 were riders under the age of 16.

Car accidents, especially those involving ATVs, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/ATV accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Vidor — Boy Seriously Injured After Lawnmower Accident on North Tram Road

Posted on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 at 8:49 pm by Williams Hart

At around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, a three-year-old boy was seriously injured in a lawnmower accident that occurred in Vidor, Texas.

According to initial reports, the accident occurred in the 3400 block of North Tram Road, near Oak Acres Mobile Home Park. A lawnmower ran over the right hand of the boy, causing severe injury. He was initially brought to Turning Point Church but was then airlifted to Texas Children’s Hospital. He lost an index finger, but the rest of his hand is reported to be okay. He will have additional surgery to reattach his tendons. As of right now, he is recovering.

The accident still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victim in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Personal injury is simply described as an injury to the body, mind, or emotions, and a personal injury lawsuit is filed against the person or entity that caused the harm through negligence, gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct, and in some cases on the basis of strict liability. Some of the common damages (also known as the things for which the injured person may be compensated) usually include the injured person’s medical bills, pain and suffering, and diminished quality life.

Getting injured as a direct or indirect result of someone else’s actions can be as complicated as it is devastating to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers who are experienced in cases like this. That is why, if you think you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Vidor — Child Dies After Pickup Truck T-Bones Vehicle on FM 105

Posted on Thursday, April 25th, 2019 at 9:24 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, a broadside collision occurred in Orange County, Texas, and it claimed the life of one child.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a Kia passenger car was traveling on FM 105 and was about to turn left onto Lakeview Cutoff Street in Vidor. It pulled into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck, and as a result, the pickup slammed into the passenger-side door of the Kia.

An 11-year-old child, who was a student at Vidor Middle School, was transported to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth in Beaumont, but sadly, he was pronounced dead just shortly after 9 p.m. The driver of the Kia, who is also the child’s mother, 49-year-old Tabitha Butler, suffered non-life-threatening injuries while the driver of the pickup, 41-year-old Ricky Brashier, sustained serious injuries. They were both transported to the hospital for treatment.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of the young child. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A particular kind of car accident that is fairly common and also incredibly dangerous is the broadside collision, also known as the T-bone or side impact collision. This kind of car accident involves a vehicle being hit on its side by the front end of another vehicle. Crash research and analysis of accident data have shown that broadside accidents represent 13% of all car accidents in the United States and that 18% of all fatal car accidents are broadside-style collisions.

Additionally, the NHTSA reported that about 8,000 people are killed every year in this type of accident. And more often than not, if someone is lucky enough to survive this collision, they might suffer from other severe injuries, such as brain injuries, broken bones, internal injuries, and back, neck, and spine injuries. Passengers on the struck side of the vehicle often sustain injuries far worse than those received in rear-end crashes.

Car accidents, especially broadside collisions, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/broadside collisions, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.
