Stephenville — Man Killed, 2 Other People Injured in Head-On Collision on U.S. Route 377

Posted on Tuesday, February 4th, 2020 at 9:05 pm by Williams Hart

Just after 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020, a man was killed and two other people were injured in a head-on collision that occurred in Erath County, Texas.

According to initial reports, a 2007 Chrysler 300 was traveling eastbound on the U.S. Route 377, near Timber Creek Road and just north of Stephenville, when for an unknown reason, it crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2016 Dodge Journey head-on. Upon collision, the Dodge left the roadway and rolled onto its top before coming to a rest.

The driver of the Chrysler, 26-year-old Kenneth Pierson III, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Dodge, 55-year-old Rafaela Rodriguez, was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. A passenger in the Dodge, 50-year-old Rosa Portillo, was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville with unknown injuries.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A specific kind of car accident that is incredibly deadly is a head-on collision. The reason why a head-on collision is said to be incredibly deadly is because of the increased force that is sustained by both vehicles. Reports estimate that head-on collisions only comprise 2% of reported crashes, but they account for over 10% of driving fatalities. Some of the common outcomes of a head-on collision are spinal injuries, brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, broken bones, paralysis, and of course death.

Car accidents, especially head-on collisions, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/head-on collisions, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Fort Worth — Driver Hospitalized After Train vs. Semi-Truck Collision on Keller Haslet Road

Posted on Monday, December 9th, 2019 at 8:00 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019, a driver was hospitalized after a train vs. semi-truck collision occurred in Fort Worth, Texas.

According to initial reports, a semi-truck was traveling along Keller Haslet Road when near the intersection of the U.S. Route 377, it was struck by a Union Pacific locomotive. The crew on the train was not injured, but the driver of the semi-truck was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the unidentified driver. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Vehicular accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

An accident involving a train is a particular kind of vehicular accident, and though it is not as common as the other kinds, it can still be quite deadly. The National Transportation Safety Bureau (NTSB) has reported that almost every 2 hours, a person or a vehicle is hit by a train in the United States. A few of the common scenarios in this kind of vehicular accident include derailment, train-train collisions, train-car collisions, train-person collisions, and damage to property.

Additionally, studies have shown that nearly 1,000 people die every year in the U.S. due to a train accident.

Moreover, an accident involving a tractor-trailer is another kind of vehicular accident, and it is a deadly one just because of the fact that a tractor-trailer is one of the largest and most dangerous vehicles in the world. It is estimated that there are more than 2 million tractor-trailers roaming in the United States, and each year, they get involved in about 500,000 accidents. And since the size of a tractor-trailer is enormous, the results of this kind of accident are catastrophic, from a severe injury to death.

Train and truck accidents are undeniably tragic and devastating to the victims and their respective families. They can also be highly complicated. Thankfully, there are lawyers who are experienced in cases like this, so if you are a victim of a train-/truck-related accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Posted on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 at 8:46 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, one person was killed and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in Whitesboro, Texas.

According to initial reports, a vehicle was traveling southbound the U.S. Route 377 when all of a sudden, it ran into the back of a car that was stopped at the intersection of Gunter Road. As a result, the struck vehicle was pushed into the northbound lane of the highway, where it was struck by a second vehicle.

One driver, 67-year-old William Gray, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, two of the other three drivers were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that made the initial contact was not injured.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Vehicular accidents are a problem in this day and age, and yet, they still continue to happen on a regular basis. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A particular kind of vehicular accident that is fairly common in the United States is a rear-end collision. It has been reported that there are about 1.7 million rear-end collisions in the U.S. every year, and from that number, roughly 1,700 people die while another 500,000 are injured. The National Transportation Safety Bureau (NTSB) also notes that 87% of rear-end collisions happened simply because the driver was not paying attention to the road.

Vehicular accidents, especially rear-end collisions, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/rear-end collisions, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Bluff Dale — Motorcyclist Found Dead on U.S. Route 377 4 Days After Accident

Posted on Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 at 8:58 pm by Williams Hart

Just before 8 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019, the body of a man who was killed in a vehicular accident was found in Hood County, Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), at around 11 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, Case Cox, 39, was driving a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on the U.S. Route 377, about two miles from Bluff Dale, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle then continued through the barrow ditch before crashing into a heavily wooded area.

The crash was not located until September 16, and Cox was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of Casey Cox. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Vehicular accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

Motorcycle accidents, a type of vehicular accident, are common despite the fact that motorcycles are initially believed to be far less crashworthy than closed vehicles. In 2016, the NHTSA reported that 5,286 people died in motorcycle accidents. In the same year as well, it is reported that motorcyclists were 28 times more likely than passenger car occupants to die in a crash per vehicle mile traveled.

Vehicular accidents, especially those involving motorcycles, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in motorcycle accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Westlake — Man Dies After Crashing into 18-Wheeler And 4 Other Vehicles on U.S. Route 77

Posted on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 at 11:36 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019, a man was killed in a multi-vehicular accident that occurred in Westlake, Texas.

According to initial reports, Richard Rivas, 29, was traveling southbound on U.S. Route 377, near Texas State Highway 170, when he ran a red light at an intersection and collided into an 18-wheeler. The impact of the collision also sent three other passenger vehicles and a commercial vehicle to crash into each other.

Rivas suffered blunt-force trauma to the chest and abdomen due to a motor vehicle collision with entrapment, and he later died in a hospital. A woman passenger with him and the occupants of the other vehicles were not seriously injured.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.
