Fort Worth — 3 People Ejected, 1 Person Killed After Vehicle Crashes into Ditch on North Hays Street

Posted on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 at 7:47 am by Williams Hart

At around 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2019, one person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident that occurred in Fort Worth, Texas.

According to initial reports, a vehicle was traveling south on Decatur Avenue when all of a sudden, it veered off the road and fell into a drainage ditch near the 3100 block of North Hays Street. When the officers and fire personnel arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames.

All three people inside the vehicle were ejected from the vehicle. One of them died at the hospital while the other two were in serious condition.

The crash is still under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents are a problem in this day and age, and yet they still continue to happen on a regular basis. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

Moreover, statistics show that about 16% of these car accidents are crashes where the vehicle leaves the road. In this type of car crash, a car would usually collide into a lamppost, a tree, or a building, etc. Lamppost and tree collisions comprise about 31% of fatalities in this type of vehicular accident.

Car accidents are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.
