Laredo — Man Killed, Several Others Injured in T-Bone Collision on Texas State Highway 359

Posted on Monday, November 11th, 2019 at 8:44 pm by Williams Hart

A man was killed and several others were injured in a T-bone collision that occurred in Laredo, Texas on Friday, November 8, 2019.

According to initial reports, a blue Toyota Corolla was attempting to enter Texas State Highway 359, heading west from a private drive, when it intercepted a white Chevrolet Silverado that was heading east.

Alberto Rodriguez, 57, was transported to a hospital with some chest problems, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead there. Another patient was transported with minor injuries, and several passengers of the Silverado were treated at the scene and released.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A particular kind of car accident that is fairly common and also incredibly dangerous is the broadside collision, also known as the T-bone or side-impact collision. This kind of car accident involves a vehicle being hit on its side by the front end of another vehicle. Crash research and analysis of accident data have shown that broadside accidents represent 13% of all car accidents in the United States and that 18% of all fatal car accidents are broadside-style collisions.

Additionally, the NHTSA reported that about 8,000 people are killed every year in this type of accident. And more often than not, if someone is lucky enough to survive this collision, they might suffer from other severe injuries, such as brain injuries, broken bones, internal injuries, and back, neck, and spine injuries. Passengers on the struck side of the vehicle often sustain injuries far worse than those received in rear-end crashes.

Car accidents, especially broadside collisions, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/broadside collisions, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Laredo — Elderly Man Hospitalized After Auto-Pedestrian Accident on Flores Avenue

Posted on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at 9:31 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 11 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2019, an elderly man was hospitalized after an auto-pedestrian accident occurred in Laredo, Texas.

According to initial reports, the man in his 70s was walking by the City Hall in the 800 block of Flores Avenue when he was struck by a car. The man was then brought to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the car that hit the man stayed at the scene to render aid.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the unidentified pedestrian in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents are a problem in this day and age, and yet, they still continue to happen on a regular basis. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

Car accidents are reported to be deadly for pedestrians particularly. The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) estimates that the number of pedestrian deaths in the U.S. is 6,000 in 2017. This is a 27% increase from 2007 to 2016, and it is said that the number in 2017 is a 25-year high.

Additionally, there are five states that had the most number of pedestrian fatalities in 2017, and these are California, Florida, New York, Arizona, and Texas. These states accounted for about 43% of pedestrian fatalities during the first half of 2017 despite the fact that they are home to only 30% of the U.S. population. The GHSA also claims that children and the elderly are the most vulnerable to this kind of accident.

Car accidents, especially the auto-pedestrian ones, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/auto-pedestrian accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Laredo — DUI Accident on Park Street Critically Injures Woman

Posted on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at 8:38 pm by Williams Hart

At around 2 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019, a woman was critically injured in a DUI accident that occurred in Laredo, Texas.

According to initial reports, a vehicle was traveling along Park Street when in the 1900 block, it suddenly crashed into a railroad crossing. When authorities arrived, they found a man and a woman inside the vehicle. The woman was eventually taken to a hospital and then airlifted to a San Antonio hospital because of the severity of her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, Norberto de la Garza, had signs of intoxication. As a result, he was then charged with driving while intoxicated.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the unidentified woman.

There are three common causes of car accidents, and these are speeding, driving while distracted, and DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol). DUI, in particular, is quite appalling. The NHTSA reports that about 28 people die every day because of drunken driving crashes, and in 2010, 10,228 people died in DUI accidents while about 345,000 were injured. All these numbers paint a terrible picture indeed.

Car accidents, especially DUI ones, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/DUI accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Laredo — Man Killed in Head-On Collision Involving 18-Wheeler on Texas 20 Loop

Posted on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 at 8:40 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, a man was killed in a head-on collision involving an 18-wheeler that occurred in Laredo, Texas.

According to initial reports, the 18-wheeler was heading southbound on Texas 20 Loop, near Lake Casa Blanca, when all of a sudden, it drove into the northbound lane and crashed into oncoming traffic. A total of four vehicles were involved in the accident.

One man was killed in this accident while the co-interim city manager was being medically treated and is expected to make a full recovery.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of the unidentified man. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A specific kind of car accident that is incredibly deadly is a head-on collision. The reason why a head-on collision is said to be incredibly deadly is because of the increased force that is sustained by both vehicles. Reports estimate that head-on collisions only comprise 2% of reported crashes, but they account for over 10% of driving fatalities. Some of the common outcomes of a head-on collision are spinal injuries, brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, broken bones, paralysis, and of course death.

Additionally, an accident involving a tractor-trailer is another kind of vehicular accident, and it is a deadly one just because of the fact that a tractor-trailer is one of the largest and most dangerous vehicles in the world. It is estimated that there are more than 2 million tractor-trailers roaming in the United States, and each year, they get involved in about 500,000 accidents. And since the size of a tractor-trailer is enormous, the results of this kind of accident are catastrophic, from a severe injury to death.

Car accidents, especially head-on collisions and truck accidents, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/head-on collisions/truck accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.
