Corsicana — 2 People Dead After Rollover Accident on Interstate 45

Posted on Wednesday, August 14th, 2019 at 8:36 pm by Williams Hart

At around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019, two people were killed in a rollover accident that occurred in Corsicana, Texas.

According to initial reports, a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Interstate 45. It was about to take the 243 exit when it failed to negotiate the exit. As a result, the pickup drove off the roadway and struck a pole, thus causing it to overturn several times before coming to rest on its left side in the ditch.

The driver of the pickup, 52-year-old Darrell Cravens, was ejected from the vehicle, and both he and his passenger, 54-year-old Carla Hernandez, suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A particular kind of vehicular accident that is considered to be one of the deadliest is a rollover. A 2010 statistics showed that rollovers comprised only 2.1% of nearly 9.1 million vehicular accidents, but they did account for well over 35% of all deaths. According to numerous studies, about 69% of the people who died from rollovers were not wearing any seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Vehicular accidents, especially those involving rollovers, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/rollover accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Centerville — 1 Person Hospitalized in Car vs. 18-Wheeler Collision on Interstate 45

Posted on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 at 8:24 am by Williams Hart

On the early morning of Tuesday, August 6, 2019, one person was injured in a car vs. 18-wheeler collision that occurred in Leon County, Texas.

According to initial reports, a passenger vehicle and an 18-wheeler were traveling along Interstate 45, just south of Centerville, when all of a sudden, the two vehicles collided into each other. One driver was flown to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Vehicular accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

Additionally, an accident involving a tractor-trailer is a kind of vehicular accident, and it is a deadly one just because of the fact that a tractor-trailer is one of the largest and most dangerous vehicles in the world. It is estimated that there are more than 2 million tractor-trailers roaming in the United States, and each year, they get involved in about 500,000 accidents. And since the size of a tractor-trailer is enormous, the results of this kind of accident are catastrophic, from a severe injury to death.

Vehicular accidents, especially those involving trucks, are quite difficult for the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in truck accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Dallas — Man Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on Interstate 45

Posted on Wednesday, July 17th, 2019 at 8:59 pm by Williams Hart

At around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, a man was killed in a wrong-way collision that occurred on the edge of downtown Dallas, Texas.

According to initial reports, Mac Arthur Brantley, 55, was driving his Ford Mustang northbound on Interstate 45 when all of a sudden, he was hit head-on with an Acura that was traveling southbound in the wrong lane. Brantley was promptly pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Acura, 24-year-old Cesar Torres, was in intensive care unit after surgery at Baylor University Medical Center. Once discharged from the hospital, he will face a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of Mac Arthur Brantley. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A specific kind of car accident that is incredibly deadly is a head-on collision. The reason why a head-on collision is said to be incredibly deadly is because of the increased force that is sustained by both vehicles. Reports estimate that head-on collisions only comprise 2% of reported crashes, but they account for over 10% of driving fatalities. Some of the common outcomes of a head-on collision are spinal injuries, brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, broken bones, paralysis, and of course death.

Spring — 1 Dead, Another Hospitalized After Vehicle Slams into Pole on North Freeway

Posted on Monday, April 22nd, 2019 at 10:57 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 2:50 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019, one person was dead and another was injured in a crash that occurred in north Harris County, Texas.

According to authorities, a vehicle was traveling northbound on the North Freeway, near Cypresswood Drive in the Spring area, when all of a sudden, it veered off the road and moved down a grass median before slamming into the base of a light pole. Both the driver and his female passenger were trapped inside the vehicle, and firefighters had to extract them. They were then brought to Memorial Hermann The Woodlands where the male driver later died.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident. Investigators believe that the driver possibly fell asleep, but the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said that they will be doing a toxicology report to determine if alcohol was a factor.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of the unidentified driver. Alas, he is not the only one whose life is taken away by a car accident. Car accidents are a problem in this day and age, and yet they still continue to happen on a regular basis. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

Moreover, statistics show that about 16% of these car accidents are crashes where the vehicle leaves the road. In this type of car crash, a car would usually collide into a lamppost, a tree, or a building, etc. Lamppost and tree collisions comprise about 31% of fatalities in this type of vehicular accident.

Car accidents are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Wilmer — 1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured After Wrong-Way Collision on Interstate 45

Posted on Monday, April 8th, 2019 at 10:51 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019, one person was killed in a wrong-way collision that occurred in Dallas County, Texas.

According to Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle was going the wrong way along Interstate 45, near Pleasant Run Road, in Wilmer, and it collided with another vehicle, causing the struck vehicle to catch on fire upon impact. The innocent driver struck in the crash was brought to the hospital in critical condition while the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver that headed the wrong way suffered critical injuries and was brought to Baylor Hospital. It is possible that the driver will face charges.

A third vehicle crashed on the side of the highway as it tried to avoid the first accident.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of the unidentified victim. Houston — Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes into Police Car on Interstate 45

Posted on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019 at 11:46 pm by Williams Hart

On Sunday, March 31, 2019, a woman who crashed into a patrol car in Houston was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

According to initial reports, a police car was stopped in the 15700 block of Interstate 45 north with its emergency lights flashing because the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 deputies were investigating a hit-and-run accident in the area. A deputy was sitting inside the cruiser when another vehicle, driven by 57-year-old Vernishia Glenn, crashed into it. Luckily, no one was hurt in this accident.

Glenn showed several signs of being intoxicated, and she was arrested and brought to the Harris County Jail where she was charged with driving while intoxicated.

It is great to hear that no one was hurt in this accident. Unfortunately, there are countless other victims who are not as lucky.

There are three common causes of car accidents, and these are speeding, driving while distracted, and DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol). DUI, in particular, is quite appalling. The NHTSA reports that about 28 people die every day because of drunken driving crashes, and in 2010, 10,228 people died in DUI accidents while about 345,000 were injured. All these numbers paint a terrible picture indeed.

Car accidents, especially the DUI ones, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/DUI accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Houston — 1 Dead After Rear-End Collision on Interstate 45

Posted on Sunday, March 24th, 2019 at 11:00 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, one driver was killed in a rear-end collision that happened in Houston, Texas.

According to investigators, a Cadillac was stalled in the 5000 block of Interstate 45, near Tanger Outlets, because it was experiencing mechanical issues. A pickup truck was also traveling on the highway at the time, and the driver did not see the stalled vehicle and slammed into the rear of the Cadillac. Juan Antonio Vasquez, the 25-year-old driver of the Cadillac, was trapped in the vehicle and later died at the scene.

The police are still investigating this accident, and they believe that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of the unidentified driver. Alas, there are countless other victims whose lives are taken away by a car accident. Car accidents are a problem in this day and age, and yet, they still continue to happen on a regular basis. A particular kind of vehicular accident that is fairly common in the United States is a rear-end collision. It has been reported that there are about 1.7 million rear-end collisions in the U.S. every year, and from that number, roughly 1,700 people die while another 500,000 are injured. The National Transportation Safety Bureau (NTSB) also notes that 87% of rear-end collisions happened simply because the driver was not paying attention to the road.

Car accidents, especially rear-end collisions, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/rear-end collisions, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Houston — Man Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on Interstate 45

Posted on Monday, March 18th, 2019 at 8:56 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, a man was killed and a woman was injured after a wrong-way collision that happened in Interstate 45 in Houston, Texas.

According to police reports, Juan David Almanza, 36, drove a white pickup and entered Gulf Freeway going northbound in the southbound lanes. As a result, he collided with an oncoming white Mustang. The impact of this collision killed the 54-year-old man driving the Mustang and seriously injured the 48-year-old female passenger with him.

Officers reported that Almanza was intoxicated at the time of the crash and will face a charge of intoxication manslaughter.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. Houston — Woman Kills Herself by Jumping in Front of Car on Interstate 45

Posted on Monday, March 4th, 2019 at 8:48 pm by Williams Hart

On Sunday, March 3, 2019, a woman was killed in a suicide attempt on Interstate 45, before Paramatta Lane, in Houston, Texas.

According to authorities, the woman parked her SUV on the side of the freeway and turned on the hazards. Afterwards, she then intentionally stepped out into traffic on Interstate 45 and was hit and killed by an oncoming vehicle.

A deputy on the scene reported that they did find some notes indicating that she wanted to harm herself and apologizing to her family members. The woman’s family has now been notified.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of the unnamed woman. Alas, she is not the only one whose life is taken away by a car accident.

Moreover, suicide is also a common problem in the United States, and it is quite a serious one. Suicide is listed as the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S., and in 2017, about 1,300,000 suicide attempts were reported, and 46,173 of those attempts resulted in deaths. Additionally, about 129 people die by suicides every day, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention reports that the most common method is the usage of firearms (51%), then followed by suffocation (25.9%), poisoning (14.9%), and others (8.2%).

The Harris County Sheriff, Ed Gonzalez, says that this time last year in 2018, 92 people committed suicide in Harris County, and so far this 2019, 78 people have already died because of suicide.

It is truly difficult to prevent suicide just because of the fact that it is actually a symptom — the final symptom, in fact — of mental illness, and mental illness is still not as discussed because not everyone really understands what it is. But mental illness should be taken seriously because if it were left untreated, it can lead to devastating results, particularly suicide.

Accidents like this are incredibly devastating to the victims and their respective families. But thankfully, there will always be help available to those who are in need. So, please ask for help when you think you need it.

Houston — Man Dead After Fatal Crash on North Freeway

Posted on Monday, March 4th, 2019 at 8:16 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 5:15 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019, a man was killed after a fatal accident that occurred on the outbound lanes of Interstate 45, near the Shepherd flyover.

According to authorities, a man was entering the North Freeway when he hit a barrier and lost control of his vehicle. This then caused him to cross all the lanes where he was struck by two oncoming cars. The man was then pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses claimed that the man looked like he had suffered a blowout or some sort of mechanical problem when he lost control, but authorities are yet to confirm that.

Investigation is still ongoing, and so far, authorities believe that alcohol is not a factor in the accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of the unidentified driver. Alas, he is not the only one whose life is taken away by a car accident. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays.
