Houston — 2 Young Girls Injured After Getting Shocked by Electrical Ground Box at Lindale Little League Park

Posted on Sunday, September 15th, 2019 at 9:19 pm by Williams Hart

On the evening of Wednesday, September 11, 2019, two young girls were injured after getting shocked by an electrical ground box at a park in north Houston, Texas.

According to initial reports, a 9-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl were at the Lindale Little League Park, waiting in line for batting practice when they decided to do pushups on top of the ground-level box. However, the two of them got electrically shocked.

One of the girls had blood coming out of her nose and mouth, and she was not responsive. The two of them were brought to a hospital for treatment, and one of the girls remains in critical condition.

The accident still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the two girls in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Personal injury is simply described as an injury to the body, mind, or emotions, and a personal injury lawsuit is filed against the person or entity that caused the harm through negligence, gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct, and in some cases on the basis of strict liability. Some of the common damages (also known as the things for which the injured person may be compensated) usually include the injured person’s medical bills, pain and suffering, and diminished quality life.

Getting injured as a direct or indirect result of someone else’s actions can be as complicated as it is devastating to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers who are experienced in cases like this. Houston — Woman Killed in Fiery Crash After Slamming into Pole on Fulton Street

Posted on Monday, May 13th, 2019 at 8:43 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019, a woman was killed in a fiery crash that occurred in north Houston, Texas.

According to initial reports, the woman was driving a luxury Mercedes SUV northbound on Fulton Street, near Patton Street, when all of a sudden, she struck a METRORail column. The car then promptly burst into flames. Despite the efforts of the police and two witnesses, the woman was still pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident. As of right now, police believed that drugs or alcohol and speed may have played a role in the crash.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of the unidentified woman. Alas, she is not the only one whose life is taken away by a car accident. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

There are three most common causes for car accidents, and these are driving while distracted, DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol), and speeding.

Moreover, statistics show that about 16% of these car accidents are crashes where the vehicle leaves the road. In this type of car crash, a car would usually collide into a lamppost, a tree, or a building, etc. Lamppost and tree collisions comprise about 31% of fatalities in this type of vehicular accident.

Car accidents are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Houston — Vacant Strip Club Collapses

Posted on Tuesday, February 12th, 2019 at 3:02 am by Williams Hart

On Monday, February 11, 2019, the roof of a vacant strip club collapsed in north Houston.

According to initial reports, Sam Salas and his employees were working at the nearby Jack in the Box when the building of Playhouse Houston, located on Crosstimbers Street and Fulton Street, collapsed. This caused debris to fall, and Juan Lopez’s father’s SUV was hit by some when he was driving by. He was able to swerve away from the other falling debris.

Luckily, the building was vacant when this happened, so there have been no injuries that were reported.

The cause of the collapse is still unknown, and investigation is still underway for this accident.

It is great news to hear that no one was injured in this accident. Unfortunately, there are other victims who are not as lucky. Building collapses are not that common in the United States, but when they do happen, they can be fatal. In a study conducted from 1989 to 2000, a total of 225 building failures occurred in the United States, and from this number, 97 people were killed while 460 were injured. Moreover, this study shows that the most common type of building that is affected by a building failure is the low-rise kind, followed by multistory, tower, long-span, and plant-industrial, and construction and maintenance are two of the most common causes of failure. Other possible causes that are noted are the design, detailing, material-related problems, external, and others.

In this study, Texas is ranked as the 7th state with the most building failures.

Building collapses are undeniably devastating to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers who specialize in this kind of accident. That is why, if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask help from these lawyers.
