Longview — Man Drunkenly Crashes into Pole on U.S. Route 80

Posted on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at 11:47 pm

At approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, a drunken crash occurred in Longview, Texas, and it caused power lines to fall across the highway.

According to Longview Police, a man was driving a white Cadillac Escalade along U.S. Route 80 when he suddenly crashed into a telephone pole. The crash broke the pole, which caused the power lines to fall across the highway.

This crash caused the road to be closed for a while. The driver of the Escalade was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

The three common causes of car accidents are speeding, driving while distracted, and DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol). DUI, in particular, is quite appalling. The NHTSA reports that about 28 people die every day because of drunken driving crashes, and in 2010, 10,228 died in DUI accidents while about 345,000 were injured. All these numbers paint a terrible picture indeed.

Moreover, statistics show that about 16% of these car accidents are crashes where the vehicle leaves the road. In this type of car crash, a car would usually collide into a lamppost, a tree, or a building, etc. Lamppost and tree collisions comprise about 31% of fatalities in this type of vehicular accident.

Car accidents are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Killeen — 2 Children Hospitalized After SUV Rear-Ends School Bus on Stagecoach Road

Posted on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at 10:46 pm

On the morning of Wednesday, April 24, 2019, two children injured after the school bus was involved in a rear-end collision in Killeen, Texas.

According to initial reports, the Union Middle School bus was rear-ended by an SUV on Stagecoach Road, near Modoc Drive, while it was on its way to the school. The bus was carrying four special education students, and one of them was taken to Seton Hospital for treatment.

A student inside the SUV was also transported to the hospital.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the children in this accident. Alas, they are not the only ones who are affected by a vehicular accident. Car accidents are a problem in this day and age, and yet, they still continue to happen on a regular basis. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

A particular kind of vehicular accident that is fairly common in the United States is a rear-end collision. It has been reported that there are about 1.7 million rear-end collisions in the U.S. every year, and from that number, roughly 1,700 people die while another 500,000 are injured. The National Transportation Safety Bureau (NTSB) also notes that 87% of rear-end collisions happened simply because the driver was not paying attention to the road.

Furthermore, an accident involving a bus is another particular kind of vehicular accident, and it is fairly common even though buses are often deemed as a safe mode of transportation. According to the NHTSA, between 2000 and 2007, there have been 1,093 fatal bus accidents, and from this number, about 1,315 people died, and 3,471 were injured. In other words, about 137 bus-crash-related fatalities occur ever year.

Car accidents, especially rear-end collisions and bus accidents, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/rear-end collisions/bus accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. San Antonio — Driver Hospitalized After Crashing on Access Road of Loop 410

Posted on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at 9:06 pm

Just before midnight on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, a driver was injured after losing control of the vehicle and crashing it on the Northeast Side of San Antonio, Texas.

According to initial reports, a driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and drove over a curb just before going through some bushes in front of Chester’s Hamburgers, a local restaurant. The unidentified driver sustained injuries and was brought to Northeast Baptist Hospital for treatment.

No one else was hurt in this accident.

The crash still remains under investigation.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the unidentified driver.

Moreover, it is fairly common to hear about vehicles crashing into buildings. In fact, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) reported that in 2016, there were 266 cases of this kind of crash in Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam counties. This is an increase from the numbers in 2014 (255) and 2015 (240).

Rob Reiter and Mark Wright also reported in another statistics that of the crashes into buildings that happened between 2014 and 2017 that they gathered, 24% of those were retail stores, 23% commercial buildings, 19% restaurants, and the remainder comprised of convenience stores, offices, and other non-residential buildings. Additionally, they said that the leading causes for these crashes are operator and pedal errors; they account for 30% and 25% of these crashes respectively. An operator error is when the driver accelerated too much or was speeding or was in the wrong gear. Pedal error, on the other hand, is when the driver made the mistake of stepping on the gas pedal instead of the brake.

There are other possible causes and factors for this kind of vehicular crash as well, and these are drunken/distracted driving, traffic accidents, medical emergencies, age, and even the weather (for example, the fog making the roads not visible, or the rain making the road slippery, etc.).

Car accidents are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. Golinda — Woman Dies After Head-On Collision on U.S. Route 77

Posted on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at 8:20 pm

At around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, a woman was killed in a head-on collision that occurred in Golinda, Texas.

According to initial reports, Carol Pruitt, 57, was driving her GMC SUV northbound on U.S. Route 77 when all of a sudden, her vehicle hydroplaned, crossed into the southbound lane, and collided head-on with an oncoming 18-wheeler. She was then pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was brought to a Waco hospital.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident, and as of right now, authorities believed that weather was a factor in this crash.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of Carol Pruitt. Alas, she is not the only one whose life is taken away by a car accident.

A specific kind of car accident that is incredibly deadly is a head-on collision. The reason why a head-on collision is said to be incredibly deadly is because of the increased force that is sustained by both vehicles. Reports estimate that head-on collisions only comprise 2% of reported crashes, but they account for over 10% of driving fatalities. Some of the common outcomes of a head-on collision are spinal injuries, brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, broken bones, paralysis, and of course death.

Additionally, an accident involving a tractor-trailer is another kind of vehicular accident, and it is a deadly one just because of the fact that a tractor-trailer is one of the largest and most dangerous vehicles in the world. It is estimated that there are more than 2 million tractor-trailers roaming in the United States, and each year, they get involved in about 500,000 accidents. And since the size of a tractor-trailer is enormous, the results of this kind of accident are catastrophic, from a severe injury to death.

Car accidents, especially head-on collisions and truck accidents, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/head-on collisions/truck accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

Austin — Elderly Man Dies After Isuzu Truck T-Bones His Cadillac on Balcones Woods Drive

Posted on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at 10:40 pm

At around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, an elderly man was killed in a T-bone collision that occurred in Austin, Texas.

According to initial reports, Michael Cannatti, 70, was driving his 2015 Cadillac XTS westbound on Balcones Woods Drive when upon nearing the intersection, a white 2018 Isuzu conventional truck that was traveling northbound on Jollyville Road failed to control the speed and collided with the Cadillac on the driver’s side. The impact of this collision caused the Isuzu to continue across the intersection before striking the front of a gray 2013 Mazda sedan facing south on Jollyville Road.

Michael Cannatti was brought to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of the death of Michael Cannatti. Alas, he is not the only one whose life is taken away by a car accident.

A particular kind of car accident that is fairly common and also incredibly dangerous is the broadside collision, also known as the T-bone or side impact collision. This kind of car accident involves a vehicle being hit on its side by the front end of another vehicle. Crash research and analysis of accident data have shown that broadside accidents represent 13% of all car accidents in the United States and that 18% of all fatal car accidents are broadside-style collisions.

Additionally, the NHTSA reported that about 8,000 people are killed every year in this type of accident. And more often than not, if someone is lucky enough to survive this collision, they might suffer from other severe injuries, such as brain injuries, broken bones, internal injuries, and back, neck, and spine injuries. Passengers on the struck side of the vehicle often sustain injuries far worse than those received in rear-end crashes.

Car accidents, especially broadside collisions, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/broadside collisions, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.

San Benito — Teenager Dead, 2 Children Injured in Fatal ATV Accident on FM 800

Posted on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at 10:18 pm

On the evening of Saturday, April 20, 2019, one teenage girl was dead and two children were injured in an ATV vehicle collision that occurred in Cameron County, Texas.

According to initial reports, a Nissan Frontier was traveling east on FM 800 when it collided with an ATV on the intersection of Oyama Road after the ATV’s driver, 14-year-old Esela Lerma, missed a stop sign. Lerma was pronounced dead at the scene while her two children passengers were brought to Valley Baptist. One child is in critical condition while the other is in stable condition.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Vehicular accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are small, single- or dual-person vehicles that are used for recreational purposes on off-road courses or areas of wider land. They are not legal to be used on the streets in the United States, but people still do use them, and so accidents involving this kind of vehicle happen. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, ATVs were responsible for 125,500 injuries and 621 deaths in 2003. The number of injuries rose to 146,000 in 2006 and to 150,900 in 2007.

Statistics also show that one-third of all ATV-related fatalities reported and recorded between 1982 and 2002 were riders under the age of 16.

Car accidents, especially those involving ATVs, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/ATV accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. One person was killed and another was brought to the hospital after a multi-vehicle collision occurred in Pflugerville, Texas at around 10:15 in the morning of Thursday, April 4, 2019.

According to initial reports, three large trucks and three passenger vehicles collided on Texas State Highway 130, just north of Pecan Street. One person was pronounced dead at the scene while another was transported to the hospital.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

San Antonio — 2 Women Struck by Vehicle While Crossing Southeast Side Road

Posted on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at 9:11 pm

At around 11 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2019, two women were hospitalized after they were struck by a vehicle on the Southeast Side of San Antonio, Texas.

According to police reports, two women were crossing the street on the intersection of Clark Avenue and Goliad Road, but they were not using a crosswalk. Not long after, a vehicle drove by and struck them.

One of the women was brought to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition while the other was brought to Mission Trails Baptist Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

The police said that the driver did stop to help.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Car accidents are a problem in this day and age, and yet, they still continue to happen on a regular basis. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

Car accidents are reported to be deadly for pedestrians particularly. The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) estimates that the number of pedestrian deaths in the U.S. is 6,000 in 2017. This is a 27% increase from 2007 to 2016, and it is said that the number in 2017 is a 25-year high.

Additionally, there are five states that had the most number of pedestrian fatalities in 2017, and these are California, Florida, New York, Arizona, and Texas. These states accounted for about 43% of pedestrian fatalities during the first half of 2017 despite the fact that they are home to only 30% of the U.S. population. The GHSA also claims that children and the elderly are the most vulnerable to this kind of accident.

Car accidents, especially the auto-pedestrian ones, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. San Antonio — Driver Crashes Pickup Truck into Home on Guadalupe Street

Posted on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at 8:48 pm

At around 3 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019, a man crashed his vehicle into a home on the near West Side of San Antonio, Texas.

According to initial reports, the driver, who is in his 20s, crashed his vehicle into a fence and a parked sport utility vehicle before pushing the fence up against the house in the 1100 block of Guadalupe Street, near South Brazos Street.

No one was seriously hurt in this accident.

Investigation is still ongoing.

It is great to hear that no one was seriously hurt in this accident. Unfortunately, there are countless other victims who are not as lucky. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. Houston — Twins Crash into Patrol Vehicle on Beltway 8, Charged with DWI

Posted on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at 8:31 pm

On Saturday, April 20, 2019, two deputy constables were injured while they were working on the scene of another deadly crash that occurred earlier.

According to initial reports, the deputies arrived at a crash on Beltway 8, near Galveston Road, where a rear-end collision killed a 19-year-old woman and injured a man and a child. They blocked off the road, but two vehicles rear-ended their patrol vehicle. The deputies then sustained minor injuries and were brought to hospitals for treatment.

The drivers of the two vehicles were identified as twin brothers, James Bramlet and Joseph Bramlet. They were given field sobriety tests and failed. As a result, they were both charged with DWI.

It is great to hear that the deputies only suffered minor injuries. Unfortunately, there are countless other victims who are not as lucky. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

There are three common causes of car accidents, and these are speeding, driving while distracted, and DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol). DUI, in particular, is quite appalling. The NHTSA reports that about 28 people die every day because of drunken driving crashes, and in 2010, 10,228 people died in DUI accidents while about 345,000 were injured. All these numbers paint a terrible picture indeed.

Moreover, a particular kind of vehicular accident that is fairly common in the United States is a rear-end collision.

Car accidents, especially the DUI ones and rear-end collisions, are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents/DUI accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers. They will help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.
