Scaffolding collapses in Houston, injures 6 construction workers

A long section of scaffolding around a seven-story building collapsed in Houston earlier today, and CNN has reported that at least six construction workers have been injured in the incident. Senior Captain Ruy Lozano of the Houston Fire Department told reporters at the scene that none of the injuries sustained in the accident were life-threatening.

Though firefighters are still searching the scene to ensure that no one else is trapped underneath the collapsed structure, Senior Capt. Lozano went on to report that there were no confirmations of missing workers.   The scene appears to be stable, but the senior captain went on to warn that a secondary collapse may still be possible.

The cause of the collapse, which took place near Minute Maid Park, has not yet been determined.
