San Antonio — Family of 6 Pinned Inside Vehicle in Fatal Wreck on Northwest Loop 410

Posted on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019 at 11:11 pm by Williams Hart

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019, a fatal crash happened in San Antonio, Texas that killed one person and injured several others.

According to San Antonio Police, the family was traveling south in a black Mitsubishi along the 7300 block of Northwest Loop 410 when the vehicle struck the right retaining wall and then slammed into the barricade of the Military Drive exit. The impact of this collision pinned the entire family inside the vehicle, and firefighters had to cut them out from the wreckage.

The male driver, who was identified as the father, was pronounced dead at the scene. The mother who was sitting in the front passenger seat was brought to University Hospital in serious condition. The four children in the rear passenger seats, whose ages range from 3 to 8, were also brought to the same hospital as their mother, and three of them were in critical condition.

Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.

It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the family in this accident. Alas, they are not the only ones who are affected by a car accident. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.

There are three most common causes for car accidents, and these are DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol), speeding, and driving while distracted.

Car accidents are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers that specialize in car accidents, so if you are a victim of this kind of accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help from these lawyers.
