Recently, Bed Handles Inc., in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, issued a voluntary recall for 113,000 adult bed handles. The recalled bed handles pose a strangulation and entrapment risk and have already been linked to 3 deaths.
All of the recalled bed handles were sold in the United States and Canada between 1994 and 2007. The dangerous bed handles do not include safety retention straps which are designed to fasten the bed handles to the bed’s frame.
When the handles aren’t attached to the bed frame, they can slip and create a dangerously small gap capable of strangling or trapping someone. Bed Handles Inc., is urging people who own the recalled bed handles to discontinue use.
