Explosion at ball bearing factory results in injuries

On Monday, February 10, an industrial explosion at New Hampshire Ball Bearings Inc., in Peterborough occurred, causing damage and serious injuries.
Witnesses said that the blast shook the building and the surrounding area. The explosion damaged the facility’s roof and windows. At least 15 employees were sent to the hospital, 2 of whom sustained critical injuries.
Investigators suspect the explosion to have happened in the factory’s “acid room,” though they are still investigating the matter. While investigations are underway, the facility cannot be repaired and the 700 employees will not be able to resume work.
