A teenager is in critical condition after a freak accident occurred at a water park in Crystal Beach, Texas on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
According to initial reports, Caden Strimple, 14, was in a pool at Fun Town Water Park when he picked up a grate placed on top of an underwater intake pump. Because of this, he was submerged in three feet of water until a friend noticed and told someone at the park to shut the pump. However, even though the pump was shut off, Caden remained stuck. Once he was freed, he was brought to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he was reported to be suffering serious internal injuries.
This accident still remains under investigation.
It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to Caden Strimple. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Personal injury is simply described as an injury to the body, mind, or emotions, and a personal injury lawsuit is filed against the person or entity that caused the harm through negligence, gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct, and in some cases on the basis of strict liability. Some of the common damages (also known as the things for which the injured person may be compensated) usually include the injured person’s medical bills, pain and suffering, and diminished quality life.
Getting injured as a direct or indirect result of someone else’s actions can be as complicated as it is devastating to the victims and their respective families. Thankfully, there are lawyers who are experienced in cases like this.
