Coleman — 3 Men Dead After Plane Crashes Near Lake Coleman
Posted on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 at 10:22 pm by Williams Hart
At around 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020, three were killed in an aviation accident that occurred in Coleman, Texas.
According to initial reports, a Beechcraft BE20 Super King Air left the Abilene Regional Airport and disappeared shortly before 6 a.m. The pilot apparently reported an electrical problem, thus causing the plane to crash near Lake Coleman. The twin-turboprop airplane’s crash site was located a few hours later by helicopters from Cedar Ridge Aviation.
The occupants of the plane — 31-year-old Chase Hunter Bellah (the pilot), 65-year-old Gary Alan Morrison, and 70-year-old Charles Cleveland Whitener — were all pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash still remains under investigation.
It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, there are countless other victims who suffered the same fate. Aviation accidents are not as common as the other kinds of vehicular accidents, but it should be noted that though that is the case, airplane and helicopter crashes are significantly a lot more dangerous and devastating when they do happen. This is simply because of the extreme heights and speeds that are involved with them. Serious physical injuries and emotional and psychological damage are the expected outcomes of an aviation accident.
Some of the common causes of aviation accidents are air traffic controller error, negligence by the airline, airplane or helicopter pilot error, pilot intoxication, and helicopter or airplane defects and malfunction.
Aside from the devastating nature of aviation accidents, cases involving them are substantially complex, and as a result, a trusted attorney is needed to help the victim and their family. So, if you are a victim of an aviation accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this, then please never hesitate to ask for help.
