Steve Kherkher and the team at Williams Hart are proud that their recent $46.5 million-dollar verdict against Monsanto will be recognized by The National Law Journal as one of the Top 100 Verdicts of 2016. Inclusion on the prestigious and highly-coveted list is an honor and the team is proud to be recognized for their work on behalf of individuals who developed Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) due to polychlorinated biphenyls in Monsanto products.
The Top 100 Verdicts list is created each year by VerdictSearch, who scours court records across the nation in search of the largest verdicts, with help from legal practitioners and other ALM publications. The award is based on jury awards only and does not take into account offsets, appeals, or judicial reductions.

On January 20, 2015 our client broke his leg when he was hit by an SUV while he was attempting to purchase an automobile at an auto auction. The driver of the SUV was a worker sent over by Pacesetter to drive cars at the Manheim Big H auction center. Our client was safely crossing the road when he was struck by a Ford Explorer being driven by the defendant.
Our client was back to work in just 9 months. He turned to Jim Hart and Steve Kherkher to handle his case and handle the case they did.
Steve and Jim spent many long nights strategizing and prepping for trial. After a rigorous trial before Harris County 55th District Court Judge Shadwick, the jury came back with a UNANIMOUS decision in favor of the plaintiff. They awarded the client $750,000 for pain and suffering as well as $750,000 for physical impairment for a whopping total of $1.5 million dollars.
Here at Williams Hart, we are so proud of Jim and Steve and the work they put in on behalf of their client and know they will do the same for you or your family members.
Our firm received a Tier 1 rating in Texas and a Tier 2 rating nationally for Mass Tort Litigation and Class Actions for plaintiffs.
The rankings were based on numerous factors, including evaluations from clients, other attorneys in our field, and information provided to the rankings administration. A Tier 1 score indicates that a firm scored within a few percentage points of the highest ranking firm. Williams Hart is happy to be included in “Best Law Firms” and we hope to continue doing the work that has earned us our high ratings.

At Williams Hart, we are pleased to announce that Armi Easterby has joined Steve Khereker, John Eddie Williams, Jim Hart, and John Boundas as a partner in our firm. Armi has been the head of our commercial litigation section for some time now, where he will continue to provide guidance and counsel on the environmental cases, intellectual property disputes, and the other commercial litigation matters that our firm handles. For as much as Armi has done for our firm, he has also been very active in the community where he has actively mentored young attorneys entering into the profession. With that being said, please join our team in congratulating Armi on his fine work and this well-deserved recognition.

Our team is proud to announce that our very own John Eddie Williams was recently honored with the Joseph D. Jamail Award for Justice that is presented by Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA), a Houston-based non-profit. This award honors “‘unparalleled community service and advocacy for those who cannot afford legal representation’” and reflects the extensive pro bono work that Williams has donated to this valuable organization. Founded in 1980, AVDA provides direct support and advocacy to families that have been victimized by domestic abuse.
Over the years, Williams and his wife, Sheridan, have distinguished themselves as philanthropists in Houston. The couple has helped to fund research in Houston hospitals, donated toys to underprivileged families, and have directly supported many other causes like AVDA.
Yesterday, on January 29th, Williams Hart hosted a Labor Luncheon at their Houston office where they invited respected immigration expert and attorney Katheryn Karam to discuss immigration matters with the union leaders in attendance. You can read more about this important event by clicking here.
