A New Orleans woman is seeking $10 million in damages, claiming she had suffered miscarriages after ingesting the popular birth control pills Yasmin and Yaz, according to an article published by the Louisiana Record on Tuesday, October 8.
According to the lawsuit filed by Debbie Caine Matthews against drug maker Bayer and Berlex Inc., ingestion of Yasmin and Yaz birth control pills caused her heavy bleeding and miscarriages. Debbie started taking the pills in 2007 and had suffered two miscarriages in 2008 and in 2011, the suit stated.
The plaintiff is claiming that Bayer wrongfully and deliberately did not release the information that Yasmin and Yaz pills have dangerous side effects unlike other birth control pills available. Debbie is seeking to recover medical expenses, loss of income, and other damages that were caused by her suffering from using Yasmin and Yaz.
Unfortunately, Yasmin and Yaz birth control pills have been shown to cause serious health problems for the women who take them. If this is the case for you or to a loved one, you may be able to seek compensation from the manufacturer with the help of the legal team at Williams Hart. Since craniosynostosis surgery is a very critical operation that involves surgery on the infant’s skull, extreme care should be followed to ensure a proper recovery and to prevent any other complications from possibly arising.
After the surgery, the infant will have to stay for a couple of days at the hospital or surgical center where he or she can be monitored closely by doctors. Mild pain and swelling around the eyes is commonly experienced after the surgery for a couple of days. To ensure proper development of the skull, the patient will have to undergo a series of check-ups that may be scheduled every six weeks. Once the patient reaches the age of six, they may need to undergo annual check-up.

BP requested another temporary suspension of settlement payments owed to residents and businesses along the Gulf Coast on Monday. The basis for their request lies in apparent misconduct within the payment program.
Though the misconduct within the claims department proved to be true, Louis Freeh, former FBI Director, said there was no reason for the settlement payments to be temporarily discontinued.
BP has previously requested on two separate occasions a suspension of settlement payments. Both requests were denied by U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier. It has not been said yet whether Barbier will approve this third request or not.

Lawsuits against drug maker Bayer have continued to pile up since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) discovered that Yaz likely causes a higher risk of blood clot due to its active ingredient hormone drospirenone, a report from the Chicago Tribune stated on September 15.
Bayer Health Care Pharmaceuticals recently settled $1.4 billion on 6,760 claimants in the U.S. over health problems, like strokes, pulmonary embolisms, and gallbladder problems, and wrongful deaths that were linked to the use of Yaz pills. According to a woman who recently suffered blood clot in the brain and received $237,000 due to Yaz use, she did not think anything bad about using the pill since a doctor advised her to use it.
Sadly, many women are still unaware of the health risk that using Yaz or Yasmin birth control pills pose. At Williams Hart, our legal team strives to help women who have suffered health problems due to this dangerous drug by filing legal claims on their behalf. A cerebral hemorrhage, or bleeding in the brain tissue that often occurs alongside a hemorrhagic stroke, has a variety of symptoms that depend on the severity, where the bleeding is, and how much tissue is affected.
A person with a cerebral hemorrhage may have a sudden headache that is severe when lying down, changing positions, or by simply moving. The level of consciousness also changes, causing a person to become withdrawn, sleepy, or unconscious. A person who has cerebral bleeding may also experience communication difficulties and motor skill difficulties in which body parts may become weak and difficult to move. Eye problems, like double vision, drooping of eyelids, or even loss of vision, may plague a person as well.
Unfortunately, cerebral hemorrhaging is also linked to the use of the popular birth control pill Yasmin or Yaz. At Williams Hart, our lawyers work to help families who have suffered through this and other repercussions of using Yasmin or Yaz. Call (713) 352-7071 to talk with us today.
After undergoing omphalocele surgery, a baby should be taken care of properly to ensure quick healing and to prevent further infections or other medical problems.
After surgery, the baby may need to stay in the intensive care unit to keep the baby warm until he or she reaches the right temperature. For a while, mechanical ventilation will be used to help the baby breathe normally during the recovery process. Feeding the baby with the use of a nasogastric tube should take place when his bowel movement is already normal. The tube will also serve as a medium for other medicines he or she needs while recovering.
If you think your baby developed omphalocele due to the use of Zoloft while pregnant, you may be able to seek compensation from the manufacturer. Contact the legal team from Williams Hart at (713) 352-7071 to learn more about your legal options and how you might be compensated.
