At around 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, a crash occurred in North Austin, and it injured about five people, with two children among them.
According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the accident occurred along the 12600 block of Tech Ridge Boulevard, near Interstate 35 and Parmer Lane. As a result to this accident, five people were brought to the hospital for medical treatment. A woman in her 30s sustained potentially critical injuries whereas a woman in her 50s and a man in his 30s sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Both women were rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center while the man was brought to St. David’s Round Rock Medical. Meanwhile, the two children were critically injured, and they were brought to Dell Children’s Medical Center.
Officials did not indicate how many vehicles were involved in this accident or a possible cause for it.
It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the victims in this accident. Alas, they are not the only ones who are affected by a car accident. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.
There are three most common causes for car accidents, and these are DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol), speeding, and driving while distracted.
Car accidents are quite difficult to the victims and their respective families.
