Aspirin regimen could protect against heart attacks

Posted on Wednesday, November 27th, 2013 at 1:03 pm by Williams Hart

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that individuals predisposed to experiencing heart attacks take a daily dose of aspirin.

This recommendation is based on research conducted at the Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands. The study, written by Tobias Bonten, suggest that taking aspirin at night reduces blood platelet activity in the morning.

Bonten explained that people are most likely to experience heart attacks in the morning when platelet activity is at its peak, so the reduction of platelet activity could make a profound difference.

Some birth control pills, like Yaz and Yasmin, increase the risk for clotting complications and heart attacks. If you have experienced severe circulatory problems while taking these contraceptives in the Houston area, contact Williams Hart at (713) 352-7071 to find out how our lawyers can advocate for you.
